Excitement!

I entered this photo into a competition for the Hospice and it made The Aucklander! See here.

It's around a year old - taken a few months before my Grandma passed away, while my parents were looking after her. I love my Dad and Grandma :)

Wyatt and John

John and Wyatt are friends, Wywy came for a cuddle tonight, which was pretty adorable as he doesn't do that a whole lot. The dribbling was less adorable, but he does that when he's happy.

Then he went all "Ima cut yo face!"

The park down the road from us borders a couple of farms? Pony clubs? Regardless, there are a few horses around which was a bit of a novelty - not too many horses where we used to live, and it's so lovely down there. Will head down there again to do some better photo's when it dries out a bit.

John's Birthday Lunch

We sat in the lounge at home trying to decide where to go for our late lunch when John remembered this place that he'd been to years ago. So we headed down the road to Glen Eden, and ended up at this beautiful little restaurant (the cafe that he had remembered was long gone, but we decided to do lunch there anyway because it looked really nice). I'm not going to lie, I was a little skeptical at first, but it was amazing.

My bacon wrapped scallops were amazing, but I did get a massive case of food envy over John's chowder, if had mussels, and prawns, and fish, and garlic, oh damn it looked good.

Go there: La Rosa, 1/16 Captain Scott Road, Glen Eden.
If you plan to go for dinner, they do recommend that you book in advance as they are a popular place, but for lunch it seemed reasonably quiet (it was 1pm on a Tuesday after all). Their website, go have a look, we were very impressed.

Takapuna Markets

John works most Saturday nights, so on Sunday mornings he doesn't often feel like doing anything.
Last Sunday I left him to sleep and went to the Takapuna market with Cody. It was AWESOME!

The skeleton was singing/dancing to Ray Charles, classic.

It's me! I nearly bought it, but instead I took this picture...

Her sign said that her name was Sami, she was a really good little singer.

I only took a few photo's because the sensory overload was insane. Amazing food, good music, neat nicknacks, and it's so clean! (Yes Avondale market I'm looking at you, I love you but you need to clean up your act a bit please) I bought some vege's, and a tiny silver teaspoon, but my best buy was actually in the opshop next to the market - a vintage curler set, no photo's yet, but wait until you see it, it's really cool. Head to the Takapuna Markets next weekend if you like live music, coffee and bargains.
